Created in 2026
This sculpture reimagines the iconic pose of Olympia through Pony, an orangutan whose story reflects exploitation, vulnerability, and survival. By replacing the human figure with an animal, I question the boundary between human and animal suffering. The reclining body appears calm, yet carries exhaustion, silence, and quiet resistance. The mirror behind the figure confronts the viewer directly, making them part of the work and its uncomfortable reality. Through this sculpture, I want to create empathy and awareness for lives controlled, ignored, and silenced by human power.
